NEW DELHI: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot met Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday amid indications that the much-awaited reshuffle in the state ministry will be made in the coming days.
Gehlot said the party leadership had been briefed about the issues on which information was sought from him and it will decide on the date of the rejig. “The general secretary in-charge Ajay Maken keeps coming to Rajasthan and he has all the requisite information. I hope he will talk to the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi and a decision will be made,” he said.
The reshuffle will be substantial, with 13 vacancies likely to accommodate various factions including the loyalists of former state president Sachin Pilot. Pilot met AICC general secretary KC Venugopal on Wednesday even as Gehlot held discussions with Maken, Venugopal and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The likely date being talked about for the changes is after November 14.
