SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested two more men from J&K’s Sopore for their alleged involvement in a terror conspiracy case. With these arrests, the total number of accused held so far in the case reached 27.
Issuing a statement, the NIA identified the arrested duo as Rashid Muzaffar Ganaie and Nasir Mir, both residents of Sopore.
The case relates to a conspiracy to launch terror attacks — both physical and in cyberspace — in J&K and other major cities of the country, including New Delhi, by cadres of Laskhar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Al Badr and similar other terror outfits, the statement said.
NIA had registered a case in this regard on October 10 this year.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused are terrorist associates/overground workers of various terror organisations and had been providing logistical and material support to terrorists, the statement added.
